A Weight Loss Tip About Eating Secretly

Do you sneak food?

Do you know why you do it?

If you have bouts of eating secretly, you are certainly not alone. Many women who have problems with food do it. Here are some of the reasons why you may engage in eating secretly.

  • You don't feel you have the right to fulfill your needs in view of others.
  • You're embarrassed by the way you eat - maybe fast, too much, not neatly.
  • When you're supposedly on a diet, you worry about what others will say when you cheat; so you do it privately.
  • You are overweight, and when you are in public you eat very little to avoid anyone judging you. Then you make up for it in hiding.
  • You think by sneaking it, it's not really happening. You can hide the fact from others, and even from yourself.

You can most likely discover other reasons why you may sneak food.

One of the main problems is that when you engage in a behavior secretly, it often brings along with it a feeling of doing something wrong. So no matter what else it may do for you, it probably does nothing for your self-esteem.

If you are a secret eater, perhaps you can start working to change this behavior. Even if eating this way provides you with a momentary "feel good" fix, in the long run it is a different story. For a secret eater, facing this issue is a big step towards losing weight.
