So- I have been so busy- working to make money for the wedding- and planning the wedding- that I have not been blogging! On top of the fact that blogging has been more and more difficult over the past year… not sure why! BUT I really wanted to try to track some of the really fun times we are having planning this wedding… and with 33 days left… It seemed like a good time! (Like I don’t have enough to do with the wedding being so close! LOL)
So what some of you don’t know is that over the past 2 years Guy has been in the process of getting his divorce. I knew when I met him that he was not officially divorced yet- so a lot of our decision and timing to “FINALLY” get married was to wait until his divorce was final and official and all of that!
However, I jumped the gun just a bit. We KNEW that we were going to get married eventually. That has been a given for a long time. Sooooo, after getting my taxes done this year, and getting a refund- I came home all excited and told My Guy “HEY baby! I am going to put all that tax refund money into a savings account to keep for our wedding someday!” THAT got a bit of the ball rolling!
NEXT, we were hanging out one afternoon and he asked me to look something up on the Internet. OK! Will do! What? “What is the only Saturday this fall that Notre Dame is not playing? What is their day off?” September 29. I looked it up, told him and then just kind of stared at him looking blank. Then he says, “Well, isn’t that a good day to get married?!” VOILA! A wedding date! LOL We always said we wanted to get married in the fall!
We had the date and we started thinking of ideas and kind of ruminating in our heads about what the day would be like- but because the divorce was still not final- we really just put ourselves in a holding pattern. We knew we were going to do this- and we knew when we hoped to be able to do it… but we were just not SURE we COULD do it.
We found out that we COULD have this date May 31 and we never looked back! Full steam ahead for us! Busy planning, buying, budgeting etc! Lots to get done in a very short time!
One of those things is the ring of course! We found these AWESOME rings online… fingerprint rings. I would have his fingerprint on my ring and he would have my fingerprint on his. We fell in love immediately! We ordered them- but we still hadn’t found our “engagement ring.” (I’ll tell THAT story another day!) So when the bands came in- we poured two glasses of wine, and opened the package to look! LOVE!!!
“Baby! Almost since the day I met you, I knew you were the one. I love you so much. Will you do me the honor of letting me be your wife!?” <big grin!> “Oh no wait- I am so nervous- I mean Will you be my wife!?” Of course I said yes! LOL
It was such a sweet moment- even though we were already planning and everything- he was still so nervous and sweet. I love he!
Another day I will tell you about the dress, the ring and a bunch of other things! I have so much to tell you!
