The Nutrition & Metabolism Society have set a date for their meet-up in New York City that was originally planned for late February before a snowstorm forced them to cancel it. The meeting will include a review of the nutritional science in the news from 2009, a discussion of their plans to make headlines in 2010, a speech from Adele Hite who will share plans to strengthen the global presence of the low-carb science and a special question and answer time. Have you heard about all the wonderful benefits of consuming grass-fed meats like beef, spent upwards of twice the amount of money on it, got it home excited to try this amazing superfood, cooked it and discovered something startling–this stuff is GROSS! I don’t know about you, but that was my first experience trying to cook a grass-fed steak and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. It ticked me off that I spent a good amount of money on that meat only to have it have the consistency of an old leather shoe! Today’s podcast interview guest understands our plight and has written a book about how to make your grass-fed meat tender and tasty every time. This I’ve got to hear!

In Episode 342 of “The Livin’ La Vida Low-Carb Show with Jimmy Moore,” we hear from Stanley Fishman who has written an awesome book entitled Tender Grassfed Meat: Traditional Ways To Cook Healthy Meat . Hear Stanley talk about how the collapse of his health led him to The Weston A. Price Foundation and then to grass-fed meats, why poor nutrition from grain-fed meats is ruining people’s health, why grain-fed is so inferior, why grass is such an important food for cattle to consume, how he would make grass-fed beef readily available, why it is impossible for E. coli bacteria to exist in grass-fed beef, the omega-6/inflammation problem with grain-fed meats, his reaction to the negative studies about red meat, the toxins in the fat of grain-fed meats, why butter and fat is so very important for health, why cooking methods for grass-fed meat are different than grain-fed meat, why the toughest cuts of meat usually have the best flavor, what the taste difference of grass-fed meat is in various areas of the country, how you find grass-fed meats locally (specifically using ), what non-beef grass-fed meats people should look for, why grass-fed bison may be better than beef, and what grass-fed meats people should start consuming first. If you’ve ever had questions about grass-fed meat, then you owe it to yourself to listen to this interview with Stanley Fishman from start to finish.
