45 Endurance exercise best for weight loss?

Just reading about some recent research which indicates that 45 minutes of intensive exercise (I guess relatively intensive) will burn 750 extra calories a day and it ideal for losing weight.

Is this something anyone can really confirm, as in, practical experience etc?

Because I also read that 15 minutes of high intensity every day was best ....
