13 Principles To Fire Up Your Fat Loss Furnace

Some say 13 is an unlucky number. I say stuff ‘em. I don’t believe in being superstitious and letting some silly belief control my actions and how I live my life.

That’s why I’ve decided to create some principles that you must be following to the tee if you ever want to get the fat loss results that you deserve.

If you are striving to get the body that you have always wanted, if you are looking around for a bit of advice, these 13 Principles to Fire Up Your Fat Loss Furnace should be the tonic that you need.

Whatever you need to do, do it.

So without further ado, DPM Performance brings you the 13 things you need to be doing right.

1. Determination

Any body who has ever made a success of themselves in life whether it be in business or in achieving the body that they desire has had one thing drive them = the determination to succeed.

Are you serious about achieving your goals? Does it drive you every waking moment?

Would you walk over broken glass if you had to just to make sure that you are heading in the right direction?

Start off by asking yourself how serious you are.

If you’re not being fair dinkum with yourself the only person you’re cheating is you.

2. Perspiration

If you ever want to get anywhere with your training you cannot be like most of the gym bunnies and posers in the gym and not work up a sweat.

Have you ever seen anybody workout in their business skirt and blouse? I have and I had to look twice to make sure I hadn’t been dreaming! If you do this it’s a good waste of time. It’s not going to get you the body that you want.

This is how you should look after you finish one of your training sessions.

3. Motivation

What gets you out of bed every morning?

If it’s just because you have to and you have nothing to aim for thn you are surely in the wrong frame of mind and a long way off achieving your ideal body.

Print it out and read one a day or pick one for each week (that’s why there’s 52 of them!) and re-read it every day for that given week.

These words I have selected from thousands of quotes that I’ve come across and can really have an impact on your life. If you let them. That’s the big key.

4. Write Your Goals Down

I know, it might seem stupid to write down your goals but do you realise that every successful person has done this?

Unfortunately this one is non-negotiable.

I read and review my goals every single day. In fact, I’ve got 100 of them that I want to cross off in 100 days.

Give it a go yourself, I promise you won’t be disappointed if you implement the tools that you are given and actually “Suspend Disbelief” as the creator Dax Moy likes to put it.

5. Tell The World

Once you have decided to take massive action that is step one done. Congratulations!

Now you have to tell the world. Get up on a stool and shout it out if you have to do that.

Make people take notice.

The best thing about doing this is that it keeps you accountable.

It is much easier to say “stuff it” when the going gets tough if you have told no-one what you want to achieve.

6. Water

Do you drink water?

And soft drinks or soda doesn’t count. Neither does coffee or tea.

It has to be 100% pure water. Flavoured water or cordial doesn’t cut it either.

Water helps flush out your system and keep you hydrated among many other things.

Ensure you are drinking at least 2 litres of water a day (approx 67 ounces if my maths are right).

7. Sleep

I like to call sleep the forgotten secret. How many of you are trying to burn the candle at both ends by trying to squeeze too much into a day and not worrying about how much sleep you get?

Guess what? You are setting yourself up for failure. You are not goign to achieve your fat loss goal. End of story.

Ensure you are getting at least 7 hours of sleep each night. And the earlier you get to bed each night the better.

Don’t forgo sleep otherwise you are comprimising your results big time.

Your stress hormones go through the roof if you don’t get adequate sleep and that is just one thing that can go wrong.

8. Read Yourself Thin

Are you a reader? Any successful person will boast a big library. This means anybody looking for fat loss or just success in life. You need to be on a mission of self education.

Even if you’re not a reader you have no excuse. Buy the audio books and put them on your iPod or in your car CD player!

9. Get A Mate On Board

Get the support of your partner, of your family, of your boss and your mates.

Get them on board and tell them what you want to achieve.

If they are a real support they will help you and encourage you if the chips are down.

They will be less likely to tempt you with foods or activities that are not going to encourage your fat loss results.

If not, turf em. They aren’t a real friend anyway. Just someone that will drag you down to the rest of the negative crowd.

I know you don’t want that.

10. You Can’t Out-Train A Bad Diet

This is something that I’ve said time and time again. Unfortunately no matter how hard or how often you train if your diet is ordinary then you are never going to get your dream body.

If you’ve been training for a while and are not getting any progress have a good hard look in the mirror.

11. Prove The Nay Sayers Wrong

How many times have you ever been told that you can’t do something?

You know what? I think that CAN’T is the dirtiest of all the 4 letters words ever created. It is such a negative word. I can’t do this. I can’t do that. Why not? Have you tried?

There is nothing like saying a big screw you to those who think you can never achieve anything in life.

In fact the reason I started my business in the first place was because of dissatisfaction with the way that things were in my life. I took action and started to create my dream life.

I’m still not there 100% but let me tell you, life is a lot better than it was 4 years ago.

Is there someone in your life who has told you that you are always going to be fat?

Is there someone who you always brings you down because of how you look?

Imagine how good it will feel to prove them wrong.

To show them that you can do it!

Don’t be scared of what’s on the other side. Embrace it.

12. Surround Yourself With The Right Training Information

This one should be a given but I had to include it. Do you go to a gym that still has that old Heart Rate Zone chart on the wall? If yes, ask yourself why?

That is so far wrong when it comes to training for fat loss that it’s just not funny.

Does your gym still have a majority of fancy looking machines instead of a facility that is made up mostly of free weights and implements that will actively encourage fat loss like a chin up bar?

There are so many internet experts both real and fake that are out there.

Who should you trust? Someone that walks the walk and actually practices what they preach or someone who just talks it up and sits behind a computer with their gut hanging over their pants.

13. Take Action

As the old saying goes “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink”. Same goes with these 13 principles – you can read them and say “Yeah! That’s great!” and just do nothing. Or you can decide to take action and truly believe that today can be the start of the new you.

Wipe the slate clean.

I don’t care if you had a massive binge yesterday or on the weekend. The new you starts today.

Now go forward and make it happen. I know you can do it!
