I have certainly been lazy about posting here lately and just about as lazy when it comes to running in this summer heat! Went for an 11 mile bike ride tonight so that I got some exercise in but couldn’t make myself go run. Supposed to be back down in the 60′s this weekend so hopefully I’ll find the will to run again in the cooler temps. I had another period like this back a couple years ago and it took me about 2 months to get back into the running habit.
Heatlthwise all is good. Next week is time for my quarterly check up with the doctor for my cardiac risk profile and diabetic check up. I’m sure all is fine as it has been for a long time now but I certainly was more into the “beer and golf” mood this summer than I was the “water and running” mood. That usually means a few extra pounds gained during the summer for sure. I haven’t quit running all together as I was still getting in at least one 3.5 miler during the week and at least 7 miles on my Saturday run but that’s still about 8 miles shy of where I was per week back in the spring.
Off to the shower and hope everyone is staying on track with their goals for weight loss and exercise. I’ll have to work a bit more this fall for a few weeks but I’ll catch back up and lose the few extra pounds I found in the bottom of the beer bottle on the golf course. Till next time!
