What is the best pedometer?

Posted by cam5759

I want to use walking as a non-negotiable exercise along with weight training and elliptical training.  I also want to maintain a 12,000 step a day habit.  I have used four different pedometers, and they all eventually became unreliable for one reason or another.  Is their a tried and true pedometer out there that will stand the test of time, and be accurate as well?

I really like any of the Garmin watches because they also include a heart rate monitor.  There are a variety on their website to check out.  I personally use the Forerunner, but all have excellent reputations!

I checked out the garmin watches but they are a bit pricy for me.  I think I'll google to find a high quality step counter, but without the high pricetag.  Thanks for your response.

they are pretty expensive, i agree! there are some good ones at dicks sporting goods that are a little less expensive and ive even found walmart and target carries a good variety now.  good luck!!
