walking after surgery

I must confess to having had “a little work done” in the past. When you have had surgery, what with the pain and painkillers, you definitely don’t feel like doing anything, let alone walking. But you have to! Blood can clot and give you a stroke, so my doctor ordered light walking every day, starting the day afterwards. I was told to get loose, comfy clothing that could accommodate my bandages and I did it. I mean, who wants to have a stroke? I wore a hoodie and dark glasses, unibomber style and I walked like an 80-year-ld lady, but I did it. Nice and easy, steady in the fresh air. It keeps your circulation going and prevents bed sores. It also prevents fluid from collecting in your lungs, which can lead to pneumonia.
