Start walking to train for a long fund-raiser walking event

I am looking to find out the best training methods to be able to walk in a 30+ mile two-day fund-raising event in July, 2007.

I have been looking to walk in a fundraiser too someday. I found this training schedule online that looks helpful. Marathon Training Schedule Simple 19 Week Training Schedule WeeklySchedule Monday, Wednesday, Friday: walk four miles. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: Days off. Sunday: Mileage building day You may vary the exact days of the week, but generally give a day off between each walking day. Curious how your walking event went. Did you make it happen? 30 miles is a very long way but if you're prepared for it you can make it happen. The amazing thing about walking is that, once you get going, it can have the same cardiovascular benefits as running - without the damage on your joints.
