Safety first!

Posted by Tamar F. Patient Expert

Whether you are walking in the day or night, it’s still important to be careful. Once when I was young, I had a Walkman on as I walked my garbage to the back of my apartment building. A neighbor grabbed my arm from behind. He told me it was to “teach me a lesson” about walking in an alley with headphones on. While I may have then thought my neighbor was a jerk, it was a “cheap lesson” that I learned. I live on top of a hill with sharp switchbacks. The gradation is a little less steep in the ravines behind my house, but there are no streetlights in the woods. While it is tempting to walk the easier walk at night, I know that it’s not smart to walk alone in a forest after dark.
