Cellulite Shoes!

Posted by Tamar F. Patient Expert

Anti-Cellulite Shoes! Oh, there are zillion and one anti-cellulite products out there. But the Masai Barefoot Technology shoes are a unique concept. Invented by Swiss engineer Karl Muller, they are designed to mimic the fantastically fit African Masai tribe's daily bumpy, barefoot treks. MBT shoes improve balance, posture and circulation, thus the cellulite claims. The soles are thick and create a rocking motion when you wear them. It's a little bit of a project to re-learn how to walk with them: each pair comes with a DVD of instructions. The shoes come in 2 levels, "sport" and "boost", so that you can ease into the new routine. I've got both and wear the sport version when I want to cover more ground quickly the boost ones are a little trickier to walk in. Still, I use the more difficult "boosts" more frequently, to fight the war against cellulite with the best weapon possible! (Well, at $245 a pair, they'd better be some kind of weapon?) Did they cure my cellulite? Nope. But after several months of using them, I saw the most amazing difference in my butt! I'm pushing 40 and these shoes did what no gym or walking routine even touched before. I won't be without them now, even with the high price. I've been wearing mine for 2 years and they still hold up very well, so it's been a good investment. Widely available in Europe, you can get 'em in the US through www.blissworld.com . MBT shoes come in a number of colors and even a sports sandal version!

This is a great suggestion but I'm a person who gets very motion sick.. Rather than incorporating dramamine into my every day life style, let me ask you - how rocky rock are these shoes? You said you had to learn to walk differently? I'm so curious. But here's what I think about cellulite - I have it all over my body. Very faint underneath the skin, but ever since I gained "I'm 30"weight (and mind you, I'm a pretty thin girl) I've noticed it. I'm thinking cellulite is simply excess fat cells. They just happen to show up in the thighs for most women. So, don't worry about products and creams. Just decrease your overall body fat index. I'm getting there... slowly but surely.
I saw these shoes in an online catalog and wonder if there is anyone else out there who has used them. I definitely need to trim down in my glutes, but very much my thighs as well-in fact, probably more so. Has anyone had luck with that part of the body?
