Next year I will be participating in 1 Million Losers Walkathon in
August 2010 in Washington DC. They are raising funds for obese
and diabetic patients who find it difficult to loose weight and get the
medical treatment they deserve and cannot afford. Most people
are unaware of just how severe obesity is. You can loose your life,
because obesity leads to so many things like diabeties, cancer, heart
attack, stroke, kidney or liver failure and too many to list. I have lost
my favorite aunt over obesity and I want to help in any way I can.
Education plays such a big part in getting everyone together and on the
same page. One good thing I like that they will have is a partner who will
exercise with them 2-3 x's a week, and also screen them for High Cholesterol,
Blood Sugar, Bone Density, Blood Pressure exams and more. Americans
are becoming more obese by the hour and we are not being conscious of
what we take in. Some of us know, but just cannot stay away and because
sugar, fats and salts are so addictive you will need help to get rid of it.
Getting fat didn't happen over night and neither will you get rid of it over night.
If you would like to be a part of our walkathon, become a partner for someone
who needs you or become a vendor , keep in mind that we accept applications
for health, so fatty foods and sodas are not welcome.
We need to get alot of people involved. We need 1 Million Losers.

I've participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for serveral years, as several members of my family have battled cancer. Now, I've been taking part in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night walk, as someone very dear to me has survived one type of Lymphoma.
