There's a lot of American Cancer Society Relay For Life events going on over the next month or so. I've participated in three of these events already.
It really is a great way to get in your cardio on a Saturday or Sunday--team members take turns walking a track for up to 24 hours. It's great exercise, a great way to honor those who have battled the disease, and by raising money for the cause, a great way to make a difference.
The cause is dear to me, because I lost two family members to cancer and have a younger relative who's survived it.
From American Cancer Society to March of Dimes to Team in Training, there are walking going on all the time. This is a great way to help yourself get active and help others in need. Thank you so much for bringing this up! There is a great group on our site for this, Walk for Charity: http://www.wellsphere.com/viewGroup.s?id=112
Check it out!
I participated in the Walk for the Cure for breast cancer.. it's a nice, chill event where you meet other survivors and others touched by cancer, commemorate those who battled it hard, while getting some fresh air and making a difference.
