
But I think that you need to have appropriate UVA or UVB rays to process the vitamin D that's in your system. If you're just taking the capsule, I'm not sure that it's doing much good. Any experts in this area? I don't know this for a fact but this is what I've heard.
Unfortunately in winter time, if you live in a snowy climate, there is not enough UVB in the sunlight to make vitamin D.

I've just been reading in Taste for Life that Vitamin D is important for combatting depression. The Seasonal Affectation Disorder that you get is not merely because you aren't seeing light -- it's because the sun supplies Vitamin D. It's considered healthy to be in the outdoor sun for 10-15 minutes a day.
