The Healthy Cherry Juice

Cherry juice is a great source of antioxidants but many people are not aware of its potential benefits. Of course, we are not talking about any cherry juice but the latest “hottest” antioxidant juice: red sour cherry juice .

Typically either sweet or tart, cherries are the smallest members of the stone fruit family, which include plums, apricots, nectarines, and peaches. The sweet cherries include Bing, Lambert, and Rainier, and are very popular during the summer months. Tart cherries include the Montmorency and Balaton varieties and are produced primarily in Michigan.

Although sweet cherries are more popular and generally taste better, it’s the “not so liked” tart cherry that can provide the most health benefits. Tart cherries are used for conditions involving inflammation and pain, and can help to support issues such as arthritis, gout, muscle pain, back pain, diabetes, and neurodegenerative diseases.

In a recent Dr. Oz show a miracle liquid substance was revealed to the audience and his nationwide viewers.  He promoted this juice substance as a natural product which helps prevent heart disease, provides pain relief and works as a sleep aid. The product in question has red sour cherry juice as one of the concentrates and its rich antioxidant value can offer enormous health benefits.

The amount of antioxidant is measured by the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity ) value. Tart cherry juice concentrate has an incredible ORAC value of 12000. In comparison, dried tart cherries value is 6800, prunes 5770, blueberries 2400 and blackberries 2036.

Montmorency tart cherries are among the fruits and vegetables with the highest antioxidant value proving the point that farmers and health conscious folks have believed for years: tart cherries offer the possibility of improved health and mobility.
