How long do you have to be outside to get the proper amount of Vitamin-D?

Posted by Larissa

I know we should all spend sometime outside everyday to collect our Vitamin D for the day, but what is the minimum (and maximum) time we should spend under the sun?

General. I think 15 minutes outside with direct sunlight on your face and neck should be the right amount. No less.
Sunshiny Day. May sound a little blissy, but recent studies show a direct correlation between sunlight exposure and decreased depression. Dr. Mary Ellen Copeland http://www.healthyplace.com/Communities/Depression/mhrecovery/index.asp recommends half an hour exposure to indirect sunlight each day, even if you do not suffer chronic depression.
