The Problem: Eating Clean & Balanced is Not Always Enough

Sometimes we work hard, sacrifice and exercise discipline to eat a clean, balanced diet. But sometimes that means we are not getting enough variety or enough of the critical vitamins and minerals we need in order for our body to work optimally.

Below is the general percentage of nutrients a performance athlete should have in their diet. (These are General Guidelines based on recommendation from doing ALOT of research, please contact dietician or physician if you have a medical problem or other needs)

1) Carbohydrate intake to represent 55-60% of caloric intake
2) Fat consumption to reflect less than 30% of caloric intake
3) Saturate fats to reflect less than 10% of intake
4) Increase polysaturated and monosaturated fats to about 10% of caloric intake
5) Reduce cholesterol to less than 300 mg a day
6) Sugar should consist of less than 15% of your calories
7) Salt consumption should be approx 3 gm a day
8) Drink about a half a gallon of water a day, alkaline water is highly recommended (pH > 7.0)
If you are not getting these crtitcal elements daily, you might want to consider supplementation. I eat clean. I exercise and I supplement!!!
Most active people tend to hyper restrict their diets and in the end are not properly feeding their bodies with optimal blends of proteins and carbohydrates. Additionally, herbs and minerals are recommended to assist in the removal of waste products at the cellular level lactic acid) and assist with general overall recovery.
