Where has spring term gone?? Seriously, how is it already the penultimate week of class?
So awesome, but SO SAD simultaneously. I'll miss my super-awesome peers all summer long! This post isn't going to have a whole day's worth of food. Not even close - more like a meal. If even that.
That's because I'm going to use this as an opportunity to run my mouth discuss my summer with you. And you'll also get the chance to focus more on the few pictures that I am putting up.
Like of this lovely salad (seriously, when I made my first dairy-containing salad in Germany last fall, I never would have been able to forecast the love affair to ensue).
Wow, last fall - at the time, it felt like it would be fall forever. But now? Man, it feels like ages ago. I'm in a different place (literally), doing different things, and hanging out with different people.
As in, people who are actually my own age!
Those were some good times, though. I love Germany (not that I don't LOVE the USA, too, of course).
Anyway, I've mentioned that I'm pre-med right? Maybe when I was whining about orgo one of those times (seriously, my blog this past semester has been one giant organic chemistry rantfest - sorry, guys).
So since I took time off (a whole year!) but I want to graduate with my class (in 2014!) that means I have to get all of my diploma requirements and all of my physics requirements squared away in only three years.
WOWZA.
It'll be tough, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to rise to the challenge.
It's going to be really tough to just fit everything in time-wise, so I'm taking physics this summer. But in the interest of getting out of Cambridge for the summer (I'm one of those people who needs a change of scenery like fish need water and NC summers need air conditioning) and in the interest of saving money (Harvard summer school is frickin' EXPENSIVE) I'm taking a whole year of physics in an accelerated format at UNCW this summer!
Yup, I'll be in North Carolina.
In the summer.
This is something I've said will never happen again. But I'll be at the beach (or, rather, about 5 miles from it) so hopefully it won't be as stiflingly hot.
And hopefully I'll get out to the beach a lot - I don't have a care and public transportation seems pretty iffy in the area (I have a feeling I'm going to miss the T hardcore). I love the beach!
More than chocolate? Yes, I think so. But luckily, I don't have to choose. :P
Anyway, living in Wilmington means that rent is going to be a lot cheaper (woohoo!).
It also means that I get to live off campus and without a meal plan.
Together, those mean I'll be in a (shared) apartment with a full-sized kitchen!
And since there aren't any Whole Foods in the area, I'll probably be working with pretty basic, standard grocery store ingredients.
Boring ingredients + MY OWN KITCHEN = lots of recipe inventing. Especially since electricity is included in the rent, teehee (oh, how I hope that my future landlord isn't reading this).
Are y'all ready? It's about to get CRAZY TASTY in here. You've been warned.
What are your summer plans?
Are you following a pre-professional emphasis in school (or planning on doing so)? I'm pre-med, but let's face it - no one knows what will happen in the future. Being pre-med sure doesn't mean that I'm going into medicine.
Though I'll regret the orgo and physics if I don't , since they are farfarfaaaaaaar from my favorite subjects.
