Whole 30: Week Two.

I’m not going to lie: Week Two was hard & I completely fell off the “follow strictly” wagon. Did I have whole meals the entire time? Yes. Did I eat organic, local produce most of the time? Absolutely. But did I not drink alcohol & not cheat a few times? No, I definitely did not stick to the Whole 30 100% this past week. I could sit here & give an array of excuses but there would be no point to that. Last week has come & gone & so far this week is off to a good start. Here’s what I’ve noticed after week two:

  • I’m sleeping like a baby. I’m talking undisturbed, sweet, delicious sleep you never want to wake up from. Awesome! My body seems to wake up naturally, often times beating my alarm, which is a first cause I’m the snooze queen!
  • My skin is clear. I have pretty good skin but the month before I started Whole 30 I had a few breakouts — they’re all gone! My skin is looking great, I’ve had people tell me “I’m glowing”. I love it.
  • I’ve dropped a few pounds. I’m not doing the Whole 30 to lose weight but am seeing results in that area nonetheless. My jeans are fitting looser & I’m feeling lighter
  • Gluten free agrees with me. Since I’m not eating grains I feel less bloated, I’m starting to think there’s something to being gluten free.
  • Not eating beans is a challenge for a vegetarian. I’ve been craving beans all day every day, I never realized just how much my diet is centered around legumes!
