I don’t even know if posting today’s eats is worth it, but I suppose I could amuse you with them.
I promise posts will be more exciting this weekend as I’m going out of town to visit some friends and then heading out to the other Hawkwatch site in Corpus Christi and hopefully meeting up with another friend while I’m out there. In addition, I have my last long run, before the 1/2 Marathon, of 8 miles, that I hope to do along the bay side! Yippee!
I worked by myself today, and seeing as how the birds are pretty much done migrating, I knew it was going to be a tough and long 9 hrs on the tower, but I came prepared with great eats (well, kinda).
I started off the morning with a cereal/fruit mess: 3/4C cheerios, 1/2C H2H, banana, blackberries and 1T pb. All mixed together = Wonderful.

I had that pretty early and worked off mid morning hunger with a Peanut and Chocolate Chip Odwalla Bar.
By the time lunch rolled around I was exhausted for some reason, and when trying to take pictures got way frustrated because my camera started eating them. Dumb camera, you’re being replaced when I get home! Alas, no picture of my apple, or my two cut up carrots with hummus, but I did manage this one: veggie hummus sandwich.

I snacked on one of these puppies when I got hungry again and felt like the blue sky was going to eat me alive:

And yes, this time I ate the chocolate. I needed the caffeine.
I had every intention of running and doing some strength training this evening but I was just so exhausted I couldn’t convince myself to do it and instead came home …and started laundry. I did get in 5 miles of bike riding, if that counts for anything. Oh, and had this nut snack, times two.

I didn’t wait long for dinner because I was impatient with the amount of time I had free and nothing to do (what?) so I just ate dinner: leftover Amy’s Chili with Spaghetti Squash.
And then because I was so frustrated I had more chocolate, to help my head, right? 4 dark chocolate covered pretzels …
It’s been a weird night. Maybe I’m just anxious to get out this weekend and do something different…or maybe I’m just tired of staring at nothing all day long. Sigh, only one more week till I’m done and all the excitement starts!
But, I got this quote in an email today and it kinda helped lift my spirits:
Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
Love the people who treat you right.
Forget about the ones who don't.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.
If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy.
They just promised it would be worth it.
Have a great Friday tomorrow!!!
