6 – 8 Brazil nuts (cashews and almonds work fine as well), optional: soaked for 2 hours
2 cups filtered water
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, washed and tops sliced off
2 tbsp maple syrup or agave nectar
1 tbsp flax oil
3 – 4 ice cubes, if desired
2 strawberries for garnish
Place nuts and water into a high powered blender and blend until smooth. Strain, if desired, through a fine mesh strainer or mesh bag.
Put nut milk back into the blender, add strawberries, maple syrup, flax oil and ice cubes and blend on high until smooth and creamy. Divide into two cups and chill before serving. Garnish with a strawberry and serve!
