National Whole Grains Month

September is the first ever National Whole Grains month, so it’s high time to pile some brown rice onto the veggies. Whole grains are packed with trace minerals and important nutrients, and help to reduce heart disease risk, as well as the risk of some cancers and type II diabetes. Most celebs swear they help in maintaining weight, as well. Incidentally, September is also National Rice Month and celebrates this global staple, which currently sustains over half the world’s population.
