Summer time is bikini time – time to show off that belly! If you’re anything like me you’re crunching away at the gym in the hopes a six pack will miraculously appear overnight…yea a girl can dream right? While my non-existent six pack gets the memo to show up to the party I’ve been doing some cool exercises with my personal trainer, running & doing some yoga to work on my core. Someone once told me great abs start in the kitchen, meaning you can do as many sit ups & ab exercises as you want but until you watch what you eat you won’t see results. Since the stomach is one of my current target areas I’ve been doing some research on foods that help reduce belly fat . Here’s a list of foods that help reduce bloating & combat belly fat:
All these foods are absolutely delicious so I’m incorporating more of them into my diet, I’ll let you know if these work. In the spirit of incorporating citrus into my diet I made this refreshing & delicious Detox Water, which I found on Pinterest (oh how I love Pinterest). The original recipe is from this blog , I liked it so much I wanted to share it with you guys. I don’t know if it really does burn flat belly but I will tell you it’s the perfect drink for summer time!
Ingredients (makes 1 pitcher)
8 1/2 cups spring water
1 medium cucumber, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
12 fresh mint leaves
Mix all ingredients together in a pitcher & leave in the fridge overnight. Enjoy!
