Breastfeeding and weight loss

Posted Jul 10 2013 4:44pm
At Mummy Shape School, we are passionate about breastfeeding and if mums can breastfeed then we believe breast is best.

Healthy weight loss with breastfeeding can be easily achieved.

We are passionate about ensuring that mums lose their weight in a healthy way – and for this reason we don’t advocate dramatic weight loss. Starting by losing weight when you are 100% ready, your weight loss becomes the catalyst for choosing a healthy lifestyle. From that you make better choices for you and your family which means that the weight stays off and you become the healthy role model for your new family.

Our weight loss plans have been specifically created to be safe whilst breastfeeding and are packed full of foods and nutrients that help to support your milk supply and we constantly get feedback about increased milk supply from mums who are on our Weightloss Plans supported by the Juiceplus+ products .

We also do not advise changing your diet or starting on any nutritional plan if your baby suffers from colic, reflux or digestive issues before prior consultation with your Doctor as certain foods can make the situation worse.

Our plans have many options for a breastfeeding safe diet to follow.

The Shake Programme is breastfeeding safe using the Juiceplus+ Shakes which were created to be safe in breastfeeding, offer nutrition to pregnant mothers and can even be given to children.

These smoothies are designed to be a meal replacement for either just breakfast or both breakfast and lunch. They are packed full of nutrients, are low in sugar, high in fibre, high in protein, are dairy free, are gluten free and have added ingredients such as 17 fruits, vegetables and berries and 13g of plant based protein.

They contain no caffeine or weight loss accelerants and are 100% free from any genetically modified ingredients. You can also read the health professionals review on the products in the Mummy Shape School range here

We recommend adding fruit, flaxseed and using almond or rice milk to your smoothies and you can see lots of recipes here of tasty smoothie recipes and the concept behind them is that mums are very busy and short on time so the smoothies provide a quick, easy and nutritious meal that will nourish your body, support your milk supply and help you to lose weight.

The Juiceplus+ smoothies can be done in conjunction with our 28 day diet & exercise plan and you can alternate recipes on the plan with the smoothies or you can choose to do the smoothies on their own – all smoothie plans come with our full Mummy Shape School Starter Kit giving you advice on health, nutrition and snacks to include in your diet during the day. You can see our plans here
