Greetings from South Florida! I’m currently home with my family for the holidays… and also for My Wedding!!!
Yep, you read that right -
I’m getting MARRIED tomorrow!
I promise there will be a full recap eventually. For now, let me just say that ever since I saw Miranda’s wedding on Sex and the City back in 2004, it became my dream wedding. My plans for my real wedding are coming pretty close to what I dreamed of. It’s going to be asmall teeny-tiny ceremony at a park in my hometown, followed by a multi-course dinner at Sublime, Fort Lauderdale’s premier Vegan restaurant.
Our wedding date is just a few days shy of 4 years after the day we met. Looking back now, it’s so hard to imagine how I ever lived without knowing him.
I know it’s cliche, but he really does make me a better person – his encouragement is the reason I started this blog and further immersed myself in my love of healthy cooking. He’s also helped me to widen my horizons, traveling to places I never imagined I’d ever go – like this extremely remote island in Cambodia. And all at the same time, he’s also helped me to learn to relax [a little bit] more.
Unlike our teeny-tiny wedding, our honeymoon is going to be prettygrand!
We are taking 3 weeks to do relaxing and exploring in equal parts.
After much debate between locations – and after seriously considering both Australia and Argentina – we decided on Colombia for our honeymoon.
The truth is we had never even thought of going to Colombia until it kept coming up again and again in my Google search results. The city of Cartagena on the coast has been named the #1 honeymoon destination in South America. Plus, the landscape in Colombia is so varied and beautiful – in just a short radius, we’ll be able to experience the thriving metropolis of Bogota – nestled in mountains, colorful old Colonial buildings, beaches, coffee plantations, and tropical rain forest.
Here’s some of the highlights we’re most looking forward to:
Colorful days in Bogota

I wish you all a safe and happy New Year and I look forward to coming back to the blog at the end of January. In the meantime, I’ll be sharing live trip updates on Twitter and Instagram for anyone that would like to journey along with us!
Hasta la Vista!
I’d love to hear from you!If you’ve been to Bogota or Cartagena suggestions are appreciated!
