What all does it take to become a semi vegetarian?

I know we all need meats for protein
but what does take to become a vegetarian
where can I purchase vegetarian foods?

where can I purchase vegetarian food that has just as much
protein as meat?

I highly advocate eating Boca brand meat substitutes to help ease over.
They are available at Wal-Mart and Target; The ground beef = cannot even taste
the difference. Good with tacos.

You could become vegetarian in stages:

1. Cut back on meat: (2-3 weeks)
When you are at McDonalds, try getting a cheeseburger instead of double cheeseburger. Get smaller meat portions and side salads or fruit salads.

2. Stop eating red meat: (3-4 weeks)
Cut beef from your diet, then pork. There are plenty of fish and chicken choices at almost any restaurant and at family dinners.

3. Stop eating chicken: (up to six weeks)
You might still eat fish at this stage.

4. Stop eating fish: (2-5 weeks)
No meat at all at this point.

5. Remove egg, milk, and cheese from diet: (1-2 weeks)
You can find vegan, soy substitutes for all.

6. Remove the remaining yogurt and ice cream.
You can find substitutes for these as well.

I could not ease my way over because I had a traumatizing experience.
