One thing for sure about the vegan community – they walk the walk. It’s not just about food, but also clothing, beauty products, everything. Baltimore is a progressive city and has several vegan resources. There’s a woman named Sevi Kay who makes vegan, organic shampoo and conditioner for dogs (www.cybercanine.com ) and organic, vegan cosmetics for people (www.sevicosmetics.com ). There’s even a shoe store that cares a nice selection of VERY glamorous vegan shoes – Shoes & Chocolate. I think there’s a perception that vegan shoes all have to look like Birkenstocks, but it’s clearly not true. They have some darling stilettos that really look straight out of W magazine.
Good stuff! Also check out the Earth Spirit line sold at http://organicproducts plus.com
