Last night I met up with a group of girls that I met through the Tampa Bay Lady Bloggers . We got together for celebratory drinks at Timpanos in Hyde Park. Between the bunch of us there was a lot to celebrate! There have been a lot of races, training, weddings and other awesome-ness going on in this group and it was really nice to catch up IRL about it all.

We were able to sit out on the patio. I ordered a Pear-fict Martini which was awesome but incredibly hard for me to pronounce (I swear I only had one).
Beth gave me my very first Bridal magazine and a couple of the girls gave me super sweet congratulations cards. I am overwhelmed by the kindness of these girls. I am so grateful I met them!
So, I’ve still not quite come down from my post race/engagement high but, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what’s next for me.
That’s really a two-fold question I suppose; racing and wedding planning.
As far as the wedding, I’ve barely had a moment to think about it. Event and Wedding planning should come naturally for me in my line of work but, when it’s your own, it’s a bit different. Patrick and I have a few ideas on locations but thats about it. I don’t want anything to feel rushed or stressed so for now, I’m going to enjoy being newly-engaged. There’s nothing wrong that, right?
Now, my race schedule, that’s another thing.
That’s been planned out for a while. This Fall is going to be jam-packed with all sorts of fun races.
I’m doing my first cycling specific event on October 27th with a group of girls from the Tampa Bay Lady Bloggers group. Cycle for Life is a 50 mile ride benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis foundation. Now that 50 miles doesn’t sound so scary anymore I’m really looking forward to a fun ride with a great group of people.
I was lucky enough to get a spot in the New York City Marathon this year on November 4th. It’s been my dream race since I bought my first pair of running shoes and I cannot wait to run it. A couple more weeks between Augusta and NYC would have been nice but, I’ll make it work.
I also am tackling my next mud run in November. Pretty Muddy is a 3.1 mile women’s adventure obstacle course mud run here in Tampa. There is a group of TBLBs doing it together. If you’re in the Tampa area and are looking for a fun event I would definitely check this one out! It looks like its going to be a blast.
Then of course, my annual favorite, the Women’s Half Marathon is November 17th. I’ve done this race for the last 3 years in a row (since it started) and always really enjoy it. I’m still not sure what my strategy is going to be for this one. I will have to see how my legs are feeling after NYC.
Last but not least, The Color Run in St. Pete on December 15th. Several of my friends signed up on the team Meghan created. If you haven’t heard of it check out their website . It looks like its going to be an epically colorful day.
After all that, I’m taking a long and much needed break in December. Well, that’s the plan anyway. I’ve developed a new never-say-no-to-any-races-ever mentality lately. I need to get that under control… maybe…
What are your plans for Fall races? I’d love to hear. Tell me in the comments!
