I could go on about the benefits of breakfast, but recipes are so much tastier. I’d like to introduce Ani Phyo, our newest writer at beYOUmag.com. Raw Vegan Breakfast Recipe: Good Morning Sunshine SmoothieEvery morning I start my day with a blended smoothie of some sort. Though I'm not much for caffeine, there's definitely days where I need that extra pick me up. I'll make sure to couple caffeine with Maca for Maca's ability to rebuild my adrenals.

Some of you have been asking me what is CACAO? Cacao is raw whole dried cocoa. Usually the cocoa powders we buy at a store are roasted. So raw fooders use the term cacao when we talk about the raw whole cacao pod or beans. Feel free to use roasted cocoa is cacao is not available in your neighborhood. You can also order it online too. Either form are full of antioxidants. Maca is an adaptagen from the Andes. It helps our bodies handle stress better.

Try this recipe.

Do you ever do this with frozen banana? When my bananas start to get over-ripe, I slice them and store in a plastic bag in the freezer. They're always ready for impromptu smoothies!
