~*~*~Happy New Year!~*~*~ I hope all of you had a wonderful time celebrating the arrival of 2010! I spent New Year's Eve in downtown Anchorage where I listened to great music, watched amusing performers, and reveled in the beautiful fireworks display. New Year's Day was much more low-key. I went to a special 2-hour yoga class that was exactly what I needed! The teacher was incredible, and I can't think of a better way to spend the first day of the new year and my birthday than by sweating and chanting with a room of complete strangers. Seriously, it was great! And my mom and brother got me an awesome birthday present--gift certificates to a spa! Hot stone massage, here I come! As you know, this year really does mark a new beginning for me! Things are actually going really well, and while I am still having to deal with the outward responsibilities and pain that come with choosing to end my marriage, I have found a place of peace and contentment inside me. I'm even planning a trip! It is still in the "wishing and hoping" stages, but I am intent on getting to Thailand this year, hopefully in November so I can participate in the Loy Krathong festival. Here is a pretty video that shows you part of the festivities. I wish you all a joyful, peaceful 2010 where you follow your heart's desire.
