Nana’s Cookies – Gluten Free (+Giveaway)

Posted Jul 17 2012 5:21pm

How’s everything going for you guys? The weather over here in Berkeley is cold and windy. I really miss the sun!

Have you guys had the chance to visit my Facebook Group Page? If you haven’t please visit here . I am posting weekly challenges. We started the second one two day ago and it’s push-ups challenge :) Visit my page for more details!

Today’s review is brought to you by Nana’s Cookie Company .

These cookies are not just gluten-free but also vegan! I am gluten sensitive so I try to avoid it as much as possible. When I am craving cookies, often times gluten becomes the problem. But I was really happy that I got to try Nana’s. The cookies are so delicious and really really hit the sweet craving. They are a little bit sugary for my taste but that’s what cookies are made for, right? The flavors were right on the spot too. The chocolate was rich and sweet, while chocolate crunch really had that awesome crunchiness (from puffed brown rice, I believe), and the lemon cookie was the best with its lemony scent and aroma. I really enjoyed all three of them. Another bonus is that the cookies are HUGE (If you buy the large cookie size). They do have “bites” which are the ones that I sampled and are a lot smaller. I think the bites are really great because you really can’t eat the whole cookie, since it’s rich and sweet. But if you are sharing, the large cookies are no problem :)

The only downside that I experienced was that the cookies were crumbly and hard to really hold it without making a mess. But we have to understand that these cookies are both vegan and gluten-free, which means that the ingredients used in these cookies are not like the ones in traditional cookies. Also, Nana’s company has been working on this part. They have been working on making the cookies less crumbly and they have improved much more from the past. They say that it was a lot more crumbly before. They are continuously striving to create a better cookie with the help of consumers’ feedbacks.
