Frank came home with amazing news! His cholesterol levels have lowered with the levels of 11 to now 8 points (normal level being 5/6 points)! His cholesterol levels were extremely high and since this is hereditary cholesterol officially there is nothing you can really do about it except for taking a high doses of statin drugs!
He took drugs in the past but a few years back I urged him to stop taking them- mainly because I don't like medicine and I prefer to find healing in a more natural way. Of course his doctor warned him that what he was doing was dangerous and eventually he would come into serious problems. Scary to hear these sort of things of course but Frank still decided to not take the drugs.
Yesterday Frank came home with the good news and I couldn't believe it! Although I felt he was safe I never thought we could actually lower his cholesterol! His doctor now reacted by saying that what he was doing was positive! Frank couldn't believe it! Now his doctor was saying that everything he was doing was alright and he felt spaced out because on the doctors table between them was a box of tissues with an ad about a statin drug that can save your life!
The tissue box is of course a gift the doctor recieved from the medical industry. Doctors know everything about which medicine you need for whatever illness you have and how it can save your life. It's a big money world out there!
When Frank stopped taking statin drugs a few years back we tried to find as much information as we could about hereditary cholesterol. Finding information about normal cholesterol was easy, but it seems that nobody really knows much about hereditary cholesterol. So we made our own conclusions about it and eventually came across the work of Colin Campbell which was proof enough that an organic vegan diet is the best way to go.
Looking at the results of the test the most important conclusion is that the level of triglycerides is way below average level. So the less triglycerides you have in your body the better. Frank's level of these bad guys is almost nil!
I believe that the reason for such a low level of triglycerides is because Frank's diet is rich in anti-oxidants and also because he doesn't eat sugar, animal fats and eats whole foods.
I hope now that we can bring his cholesterol level even lower than this. I actually believe now that this is possible. It has taken him four years to lower his cholesterol and I hope his body will continue this good work! If his cholesterol levels continue to decline then in about two years he can consider himself completely cured.
So what is this healthy life-style which has lowered Frank's hereditary cholesterol levels?
First of all the diet which is vegan and organic. Our best investment has been the vita mix blender which makes it quick and easy to be this healthy each day. Okay, so it's easy to imagine all the things we don't eat, but in my blog I share with you all the things we do eat and I assure you it's not rice with lentils each day.
Secondly a life with as little stress as is possible. I know this is hard in this modern world, but for us living a balanced life is more important than let's say a materialistic life. Frank could work more hours but that would bring more stress.
Then there is also sport. Being active is very important, so Frank goes to work with the bike each day and as my recent post shows we even go on biking trips during vacations.
Find ways to feel balanced in life. It can be any sort of thing as long as it makes you feel good. Frank takes homeopathic remedies to bring balance in his body. This together with the healthy life-style has brought him healing.
I know that there are people who think it's unbearable to live this healthy, but honestly once you live this way it's unbearable to live otherwise! I get angry when people say this is extreme. Who says this is extreme? Maybe eating meat and dairy is extreme! Just because almost everybody is doing it does that mean that it's normal or even healthy? Of course it's simple to take a statin drug and think you can go on with your 'nomal' life without worrying. But I believe that to really heal within means making changes and not just suppressing a problem with a pill.
