healthy vegan friday # 51- from favourites, to struggles and even snickers!
Posted Jul 12 2013 6:30am
Hope you’re all geared up for another week of Healthy Vegan Friday! I know quite a few of you use this event in planning your meals for the coming week and I just think that is so cool! I think you’ll definitely find more inspiration this week!
This week’s HVF is going to be a little different. In previous weeks we have been using those submissions that received the most clicks as the most popular submissions. However, we’ve decided to try out a “Like” feature, similar to the Facebook “Like” system. Essentially you votes for your favourite posts by “liking them”. You can vote for as many as you would like and the top 3 posts will be featured! It’s not necessarily a permanent change but Carrie, Katherine and myself wanted to see how it went! Shake things up a bit ya know?
Welcome to this week’s Healthy Vegan Friday!
We had 51 mouth-watering submissions last week! . In case you haven’t seen the post or all the awesome submissions, head on over to check it out.
For those of you who don’t know, Healthy Vegan Fridays is a weekly blog hop hosted by myself, Carrie @ Carrie on Vegan and Katherine @ Green Thickies . it is a place to share your healthy vegan recipes that make use of whole ingredients and minimize the use of processed and refined foods. The recipes shared on this link up are intended to emphasis the beauty, creativity and benefits of a healthy, plant-based diet!
This post build on Chastity’s previous discussion on cravings and dealing with difficult choices as a vegan. Once again, a great discussion on focusing on the process and act of embodying the vegan lifestyle as opposed to recognizing it as simply a rigid definition that requires perfection.
A wonderful roundup of some of the best vegan blogs out there. Janet discusses bloggers whose recipes she’s tried and liked, so you know they’re good! And she even gave honourable mention to yours truly.
This was calling my name as soon as I read the title. I adore capers and that intense savoury flavour they bring to a recipe. While I won’t e making a stew anytime soon (too hot out!) I’ll be saving this one for the winter.
A vegan, gluten-free version of a childhood favourite and it even uses healthy sweeteners! Now I just need to get some cute cookie cutters!
Now for Healthy Vegan Friday #51!
My Submission for the Week:
Classic Tofu Scramble
I have been craving hearty breakfasts lately (not sure why, usually in the summer I want light!) and this totally fits the bill. Black salt totally takes tofu scramble to the next level. If you haven’t tried it yet, you MUST.
Remember: this week the most popular submissions must be voted for! So get voting and vote for as many as you’d like!
And just a quick request- PLEASE put a LINK BACK to this blog party on the post you are linking. We want to try and spread the word about Healthy Vegan Friday and would really appreciate your help doing so!
So, if you have a healthy vegan recipe (or 2) to share, please add it to the list below! If not, feel free to browse the submissions and get inspired! You can also check out our Facebook page , Pinterest board and feel free to tweet about it using the hashtag #VeganFridays. Feel free to grab our button (code is on the sidebar) to help promote this even and show your vegan pride.
You don’t have to be vegan to submit, just needs to be a vegan recipe. So share that creativity of yours!
Thanks and happy Friday!
