DO YOU HAVE A GOOD RECIPE FOR VEGAN CHEESE SAUCE?

Posted Jul 21 2012 9:48am

Question by akivi73:
Do you have a good recipe for vegan cheese sauce?

I purchased a massive container of nutritional yeast so I could make vegan cheese sauce but each and each recipe I have attempted tastes terrible! I do not want to waste the huge container of yeast I purchased simply because it was kind of pricey, so I need a recipe that tastes great.

I never know how to use yeast, but I will inform you how I make it.

Consider one lb of your favourite type of soy cheese…Whichever would suit your need to have. Lower it into small cubes with a knife and put it into a modest saucepan on the stove. Poor about four tablespoons of standard soy milk into the pan.

Turn the burner on medium-substantial and stir the mixture consistently right up until all of the cheese is melted. Then turn the burner off. Grant the mixture stand for five-ten minutes. Then stir it once again. A “skin” will form (I know that sounds gross, specifically for a vegan). Just stir it in.

Then you can use it for what ever you require it for.

You can place it above boiled and drained pasta (one lb)
You can use it for nachos

Joanne Stepaniak has a book named “The Uncheese Cookbook.” I am not a cheese freak, so I have not gotten it but. You can also use nutritional yeast on your pasta or as a coating for tofu even though you pan-fry it.

Verify this recipe out: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=10755.

I add the veggies at the finish, even though to make them crispier.

There is no this kind of recipe. By definition cheese is dairy consequently it can not be vegan.
