Different Ways to Give Back to Community

Thanks to Walgreens for sponsoring my writing. Help Walgreens help others! Visit their Facebook page here to learn about their charitable partners and decide which cause Walgreens will donate to with a quick vote.

I grew up watching my parents always volunteering in the community and church. My siblings and I witnessed much happiness and joy they brought to others and ultimately to themselves. They inspired us to do the same, whether it was helping out at school clubs or events that were held at the library.

The main public library in my hometown has an annual Book Festival at the end of the summer. At this event, many young kids who participate in the reading program get to enjoy games, delicious food, and even horse riding. They also win cute prizes too. Of course, for these young adorable kids, high schoolers volunteer as staff. I have also participated in this and loved being part of the volunteering group.

The wonderful aspect of volunteering is that seeing joys in others brings joys to ourselves. Not only do we provide act of kindness to others, but to our own mental health as well.

There are so many wonderful giving communities out there. Most of them are non-profit organizations that are constantly giving and trying to make our community better. (like groups that advocate recycling or environment-friendly things)

Finally, you don’t have to join organizations to “give back”. You can always give back just by being responsible of your own self. For example, you can donate any of clothes, unused items or canned foods to charities. Not only is this helping others who are in need, but also the environment by recycling/reusing items.
you can always “give back” by recycling trash. This is giving back to the community because it helps the environment, which all of us would like to keep it clean!

Another great “giving back” is by participating in local events such as Farmer’s Markets or holiday events near your house. This is giving back to your community because you’re participating and being active in your community. This is a lot of support that you can give to your city.

How do you give back?
