After making Kristen’s Cherry Chocolate Bomb shake yesterday , I realized that I have a new (and luckily very healthy) addiction to deal with. Today as I was getting ready to make another delicious shake, I noticed that I was out of bananas which are a crucial ingredient!
I pouted for a few minutes, and then came up with this concoction, which came out equally as habit-forming and wonderful. I am now convinced that you can do no wrong with the combo of cherries and chocolate.
Inspired by Kristen, here is my Chocolate-Cherry Soft Serve:
1 cup frozen sweet cherries
1/3 to 1/2 cup almond milk, start with less and add more milk if needed for blending
splash of vanilla or almond extract (I used both!)
Throw ingredients into blender and blend away until smooth and creamy, adding more almond milk as needing. Pour into a bowl and eat,or let it set in the freezer for a few minutes. I obviously didn’t let mine set, and it started to melt before I could get a good photo.
This tastes like chocolate-cherry ice cream, it’s amazing! I am sure adding half of a frozen banana would make it even better and more creamy. Next time I am going to pour the soft serve into popsicle molds and make home-made fudge pops with it. If you try it, please let me know what you think.
