So I'm going away for a bit. I've been planning this trip for several months, which includes short stints in several awesome places: Santa Fe, Yosemite, and San Francisco. I am so excited!
Also, good news: I got a job! And they are waiting for me to come back from my trip of awesomeness, which is sweet. It is at a local produce store/bakery/cafe/prepared foods place. Not sure what to call it yet but I'll get back to you. Anyway I'm going to be cooking which is going to be so fun, and the owner is amazing and the place is kind of out of the way but totally adorable and seems to have a good amount of customers.
So yeah. Here's some food.
Farm market haul
Zucchini, sunsweet cherry tomatoes, plums, and peaches. Mmm summer.
and also some apricots (which I froze)
Raspberry Chocolate Chip Brownies
I've been getting one or two boxes of raspberries from the farmer's market each time I go. They're kinda pricey but I figure SO worth it. Also they taste freaking amazing. I've been putting them in the food processor and then into the freezer. I decided to use some up quickly by adding about 1/2 cup raspberry puree to this brownie recipe from Joy of Vegan Baking. This recipe is soooo gooood. These are the best vegan brownies I've ever had. And they're soy-free!
Orange Ginger Carob Chip Cookies
Recipe from ExtraVeganZa, plus some carob chips. They turned out hard and chewy not in a good way, I may have baked them too long. Overall delicious though.
Ok so this post was totally going to contain many more pictures, including the eggplant, tomatoes, yellow squash, and cucumbers growing in my garden (all of which I am going to miss--sob). Also the amazing cherry-white chocolate chip cake I made Friday. But my camera somehow stopped putting pictures onto the card and therefore I have no way of getting them off. Bah.
But to make up for it, I promise lots of fantastic photos from my trip. I don't think I'll have any way of posting them, except maybe possibly in Santa Fe, but we'll see how it goes. I will be roughing it in Yosemite for sure, and then in San Fran we'll just be staying in a hotel.
