Back to reality after a week in Florida and a long day of travel Saturday that ended late to get back home. We arrived at Orlando International Airport with enough time for lunch before catching the first flight. I scanned the restaurants in the terminal for decent vegan options, but was not impressed and ended up eating the leftover tofu salad I packed while enjoying a last bit of tropical views.
Yeah, I’m cheap. But I’ve gotten used to packing food for travel.
Our final late flight home was beautiful, I love seeing the city scape at night.
After being in humid Florida for a week, the cool, crisp Sacramento air felt so nice as we were leaving the airport. It was a nice break from winter weather, but nice to get back home to.
Since we were both wiped and jet lagged, we lounged around the house Sunday morning enjoying the fireplace with these little sweeties I missed!
By Sunday afternoon, we motivated ourselves to finally leave the house to grab a Christmas tree and do some serious wallet damage at Whole Foods restocking an empty kitchen for the week.
Food-wise I was way off schedule dealing with jet lag and just kind of grazed through the day starting with a hemp protein smoothie in the morning and snacked on edamame, popcorn, fruit, and chips and guacamole throughout the day.
And I ended the day with a light salad from the Whole Foods salad bar and a glass of wine while we decorated the tree.
These little guys weren’t much help with decorating opting to toast their rear ends in front of the fire and watch.
While I obsessively made sure bubble lights were evenly distributed.
Sunday flew by! Before I knew it, it was 11 PM and I was wondering were the weekend went! And not sure I was ready to face a Monday back at work after a week off, first day back after vacations are always tough at my job. And today was no exception sorting through a stuffed inbox and trying to listen to seven co-workers catch me up on what I missed at the same time. This week I’m looking forward to getting back into the grind and attempt a higher raw diet even though temps here are in the 30s at night, should be fun!
