Here is the debesmanna recipe I promised you! My mom found my great-grandmother's recipe and now I'm passing it on to you, just as she had it written down. If you follow this recipe you will get a much lighter, fluffier, tastier debesmanna than the one that I previously posted! I like to eat mine plain, but other people pour cranberry juice or milk over it. I haven't edited the recipe or the instructions, so I hope everything works out!
Debes manna
1 Cup Cranberry Cocktail Juice
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp cream of wheat
1. Pour 3/4 cup of juice in a pot (reserve 1/4 cup) add 1 1/2 tbsp sugar and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar.
2. mix 2 tbsp cream of wheat into the 1/4 C reserved juice. Dribble this slowly into the boiling juice (stir constantly, bring all to a boil). Turn heat 1/2 way down and boil-simmer 2-3 minutes always stirring.
3. Take off heat-let it cool-pour in a mixing bowl. When it's lukewarm start beating, by hand or mixing machine till the mixture is pale pink and it hangs on the beater.
4. Pour into small bowls-cover with saran and refrigerate.
Serve with milk or cranberry juice.
And....I could really use some good-luck wishes! Tomorrow morning I'm having coffee with the hospital director and head vet tech of the clinic where I'm trying to be a vet tech. I am seriously nervous and don't know what to expect! I have my (casual yet pulled-together) outfit picked out and my resumé all ready, just in case. I really want to get this training position, but if I don't I'll still be happy because I love working at the shelter!
Happy Wednesday!
