Bio

I am a native/resident Washingtonian who has a strong dedication to family and value friendships, recognizing them both to be priceless blessings.

My background in the health care field spans over thirty years, working twenty years in the field of HIV/AIDS. Following the separation from my long term employment in

September 2008, I yielded to my calling to turn the focus from helping the sick to help people learn how to stay well, leading to the birth of My Pearls of Health.

I fashion myself to be an advocate for health and the right of those who utilize the health care system. I seek to inform and help transform individuals to live a healthier lifestyle. My focus is integrated medicine as I believe it the best of both worlds to work with an individual’s traditional practitioner as well as offer complimentary alternatives, such as aromatherapy, herbs, yoga, etc.

I am the Health Editor for an online publication Not Ur Mommas News and write for several other online sources, SG Magazine, Black Health.org, and Big, The Magazine, where I provide what I believe is the best weapon available to fight this war against dis-eases & dis-orders- INFORMATION.  It is written that “my people shall perish for lack of knowledge”.

Bi-monthly I host a teleconference series "Let's Talk Health", which provides a platform for support and an opportunity to hear helpful tips and tools as people step on to the pathway to a healthier lifestyle.

My ministry, 4U&URS answers a calling to reach out and have an impact in the lives of women who have, some through bad choices they have made, and others through life circumstances, become lost, hopeless, bruised, beaten down, or just stuck trying to find how to be the best that God intended them to be.

The overall goal is empower women to focus on themselves (walking in faith not fear) to learn to love who they are and to strive to reach their fullest potential to ultimately be better moms, wives, and friends to one another.

I also facilitate caregivers support groups and am a grief consultant.

I hope that the pages of my ebook Pathway to a Healthier Lifestyle, available on request, will by one of the catalyst for your beginning to live a healthier lifestyle to last for your lifetime.
