I heard this song on the weekend 20 minutes into my final run of the week and wow, it was just what I needed to hear. I LOVE this song for many reasons, but more than anything it made me think of my girlfriends back home in "S town". I am going home in 2 months for a visit and CAN'T wait to see them. This song was the icing on the cake of a very tough week both physically and mentally. And it made me smile and sing!
I felt like this: Picture taken umhmmm 12 yrs ago but none the less it was how I felt.
So last week I had 15.5 hrs, my biggest week to date and I wish I could say it was all roses but that isn't quite the case. My long run had GI issues throughout and I mucked up my long ride/brick run. Whatever, the week is done and I take away these positives: 1) 15.5 hrs of training 2) first flat out on the road 3) clyclists are REALLY nice people (everyone stopped to see if I was ok or if they could assist me changing my flat - WOW) 4) brick run off the bike from the road (not the trainer) I have much better legs 5) I took 7 minutes off my loop time on Barnette HWY since last summer - Woohoo!!! 6) Fantastic FAMILY dinner on Sunday evening - now really isn't that what life is all about!!!
Hope everyone is having a great day and best of luck to everyone racing in Hawaii this weekend, I am envious, but maybe next year. If you need a song to get you through a tough spot during the race or training I highly recommend ACDC "You Shook Me All Night Long" Antonio Loves it too. I must clarify - we don't let our kid smoke and he doesn't drink!!!
