Wonderful Summer Experience for Youth with Fireside Adventures

Posted May 01 2011 12:00am
Do you remember Summer Camp? Some of my most fondest childhood memories are from Summer camp. My friends run youth camps in both BC and Ontario. Have a look and pass it around. I am looking forward to when the Midget it old enough to attend these camps as I think what children take away from Summer Camp is not measurable!

Wonderful Summer Experience for Youth with Fireside Adventures

The Fireside International PaddleHead Leadership Program is for youth seeking certified skills training in canoe expeditions, environmental studies, and outdoor leadership development. Youth from across the globe, including Canada, enrol in our educational and wilderness based program because they seek a safe adventure and an opportunity to grow as an individual.

This 21-day comprehensive leadership program is a chance for youth to explore and discover one of Ontario's most pristine Provincial Parks.

Start Date: July 8, 2011
End Date: July 28, 2011
Ages: 14 to 17 years old (co-ed)
Price: $2,999 + 13% HST (includes instruction, food, most camping gear, camping fees, and transportation during the trip. Does not include flight.)

Locations: Killarney Provincial Park, ON.

Alternate Date Option: July 8-21, 2011 (14 days). $2,300 CDN + 13% HST

The PaddleHead program incorporates traditional canoe and backpacking expeditions, outdoor leadership training and Leave No Trace camping practices to give participants the experience to become more confident in the outdoors, while experiencing summer in Ontario’s most revered locations.

Youth of all experiences, strengths and backgrounds are encouraged to enrol in this unique program. Participants will foster their relationship with the environment and develop the leadership skills needed to be more self-propelled.

PaddleHead youth will begin their training at the Rockwood Conservation Area before heading to Killarney Provincial Park.

All 21-day youth must complete a canoe paddling competency test, group and individual solos and a day-long community service project. The 14 day program will focus primarily on canoe paddling.
