Watch Lance Armstrong race Ironman champ Mark Allen back in the day at Bermuda triathlon

It is hard to believe that, "15-year-old wonder boy Lance Armstrong," (as Phil Liggett says in this video) is actually challenging Mark Allen in Bermuda at this 1987 triathlon.

Fast forward some 20 years and now that Lance Armstrong says that's he's going back to his first love (the sport of triathlon) it makes you wonder if they will ever race again against each other again.

It would certainly be something to watch the seven time Tour de France winner take on the six time Ironman Kona World Championships winner.

Of course they might have to fight it out in different age groups, but as a past winner of Kona, Mark Allen has a lifetime entry to the Ironman World Championships...should he choose to race again.

Theoretically Lance Armstrong would have to qualify for the big show in Hawaii, but we suspect that if Armstrong wanted to race Kona next month, Ironman would not only give him an entry but move up the race by a month.

BTW: you gotta love the old school areo helmets.
