Video: Team EverymanTri goes long & high as TransRockies run nears
Posted Aug 11 2010 6:53am
Editor's Note: The Gore-tex TransRockies
run is "just" 113 miles, over
six days and (BTW) over a few biggish mountains. Team EverymanTri will
take on the challenge this August with our man Paul Shippey and his friend Paul Mandel. You keep up with the Paul's on the Trans Rockies blog HERE .
With the days rapidly counting down to the 2010 TransRockies run, team EverymanTri set out to run Rollins Pass which, BTW, is one of Colorado's more remote and rugged unpaved mountain passes.
Rollins Pass follows the route of the old Denver and Salt Lake Railway bed that once crossed the continental and connected Colorado and Utah.
Today trains pass through the mountain at the Moffat Tunnel, but the two Paul's decide to run 16 miles over to the top of the mountain to almost 12,000 feet above sea level as part of a their TransRockies training regime.
Roman Mica caught up with them as the reached tree line and filed this video story.
