Here's a very brief recap of the first 88-mile stage of the 2010 Tour Down Under.
There was a three man breakaway followed by a solo bid for glory which was was caught.
The sprinters had their way and German Andre Greipe ((HTC-Columbia) won the stage followed by Gert Steegmans (Team RadioShack) and
Jurgen Roelandts (Omega Pharma-Lotto).
Lance Armstrong finished the race with the main peleton.
"It was not an easy day, but it's hard for everybody," said Armstrong,
the seven-time Tour de France winner.
"Great job to Geert Steegmans for his 2nd place finish. Good start to Tour Down Under for Team Radio Shack," he later wrote on twitter.
Stage two of the six stage race will be held on Wednesday.
