Just a quick update mid-week. After the masters meet last weekend, I was pretty spent. Monday was a typical recovery day with a bit of core and stability work. I try to get into the gym 2x a week to get this done. I find that it really helps the overall injury prevention and general feeling of fitness and health.
Tuesday I was still pretty wiped. Did a 4k swim and that was it. Wednesday was another 4k-ish swim, an aerobic hilly 10 mile run, and a solid 40-ish mile ride with some VO2 intervals. I have to say that these were very tough. I've been having Amy as well as another athlete or two of mine do them, and I took my own medicine yesterday. They were very tough.
Today is another swim, bike, run day that started with another 10 miles or so. This one was a mix workout with 8x1 minute HARD, 1 minute EZ. Then I followed that up with a little bit of tempo/threshold work. This afternoon will be an easy swim, core, and an easy ride.
That's about it. This will be a solid solid week of training, and I'll follow it up with The Rookie Triathlon on Saturday. Stay tuned for an update.
