Nearly 40 former Biggest Losers to reunite at San Francisco triathlon next month

Posted Jun 24 2010 8:23am

Mv You've probably heard the old saying that all roads lead to Rome, well when it comes to NBC's hit show Biggest Loser...all roads lead to triathlon.

So it was not such a huge surprise when we learned that nearly 40 former Biggest Loser contestants are getting together next month at the San Francisco Triathlon at Treasure Island.

BTW: The weekend's race lineup includes the Biggest Loser of them all: season nine winner Michael Ventrella.

“Even though I won “The Biggest Loser” last month after dropping half my body weight, my journey to maintain a new healthy lifestyle is ongoing,” said Ventrella. “It’s all about continuing what I learned while on the Biggest Loser ranch, such as exercising with purpose, and participating in events such as the Triathlon at Treasure Island that help me stay on track and keep me motivated.”

Now don't get too excited about 40 Biggest Losers all swimming, biking and running together in San Fran.

In fact, from what we can tell from the press release most won't actually race the triathlon. They will be at the race with some of them running (or cheering on those running) a 5K and 10K run.

According to the Press Release:

"The former contestants competing in the 5K and 10K will cheer on the triathlon participants after completing their run.
The current line-up of former Biggest Loser contestants is as follows:

Season 9: Michael Ventrella, Daris and Cheryl George, Ashley and Sherry Johnston, Cherita and Victoria Andrews, O’Neal and Sunshine Hampton, Sam Poueu, Stephanie Anderson, and Andrea and Darrell Hough
Season 8: Shay Sorrells, Tracey Yukich, Rebecca Meyer, Julio Gomez, Daniel Wright, Antoine Dove, and Alexandra White
Additional: Season 2’s Matt and Suzy Hoover and Pete Thomas; Chris Blackburn, season three; Neill Harmer, season five; and Hollie Self, season four"

The weekends festivities are set for July 9 – 11.
