Levi Leipheimer discovers broken sacrum and drops out of Paris Nice

The Amgen Tour of California winner, Levi Leipheimer, fractured his sacrum when he crashed with Lance Armstrong in Stage 3 of the AToC,
and now will have to drop out of the 67th Paris Nice bike race which is scheduled for March 8th to the 15th.
According to Leipheimer' s Twitter page: " Looks
like I fractured my sacrum in that stage 3 crash, was wondering why the
pain wouldn' t go away! It' s not bad but no Paris Nice for me."
" A scary moment for Leipheimer comes
early in the day. Levi' s front wheel crosses with the back wheel of
Lance Armstrong, his Astana teammate. Leipheimer goes down and takes
down a few riders close behind.
Levi would be OK and return to the peloton with the help of his Astana teammates."
Johan Bruyneel writes on his Twitter page: "Just
found out that Levi rode more than half of ToC ( and won it ...) with a
fractured sacrum... Gives even more credit to his heroic win!"
Leipheimer eventually went on to win the race, but it looks like the
crash with his Astana teammate Armstrong was much more serious than he
