Kitwara and Chepkurui win Peachtree Road Race plus complete age-group results

Sammy Kitwara of Kenya has won the 40th AJC Peachtree Road Race in Atalanta Georgia in an unofficial record time of 27:21. This was the 5th consecutive time the Kenyan runner has won in his last five races.

ON the women' s side it was Lineth Chepkurui, also of Kenya who took the top podium position.

Approximately 55,000 runners took on the 40th running of the Peachtree Road Race. The 10K race is the largest road in the world.

According to the ajc.com:

"Marcel Hug of Switzerland won the wheelchair division in 19:36.92. His personal best was 20:49.

Edith Hunkeler of Switzerland defended her title in the race, winning in a course record 23:09.98. Her personal best was 23:18. The previous course record was 23:11. Hunkeler is now a five-time Peachtree winner.
