It’s a New Year

Posted Jan 14 2013 4:59pm

It’s a New Year and I’m back at blogging.

So as I was running 13 miles yesterday in temps hovering around….well….10 degrees maybe, I was trying to come up with something profound for my first blog post of the year.  Ok…let’s be honest here…my first blog post in 2 months….  Bad blogger Bad!  Sit, Stay!  :-)

What I came up with was….nothing!  No wait….Everything! No…make that nothing.  Honestly, what I came up with was to just sit my rear down in front of the computer and start writing.  I mean, why not.  I couldn’t think of anything profound so why not just write?

Yesterdays run was tough.  Tough because of how cold it was and tough because it was my longest run since last July.  Let me take that back (see told you I was just going to write).  The distance or mileage wasn’t tough it was being out there in 10 degree weather once the clouds rolled it! I was having a smashing time up until then.  It actually felt like it was in the 40′s while the sun was out.  The good thing is there where a few other hard-core runners out there once it got down right frigid.  I didn’t feel so alone on the snow dusted trails.

As soon as I finished I jumped in my car and turned it on to begin the process of warming up.  I also downed this great new beverage I found!  Perfect for that immediate post workout recovery!  Now that Mix1 is gone I have been in search on my new FAV pre/post workout nutrition.  So all of you who have a whole in your nutrition regime you have to give this stuff a try.  It’s called ORGAIN Organic Nutritional Drink.    You’ve got to check it out.  There is No funky after taste and the flavors are delicious!!!!

I finally warmed up after soaking in espom salt and putting on compression socks and tights and my big fluffy warm bathrobe.  I then proceeded to warm myself up while lying on my couch watching the first season on Downton Abbey.  (I’d always wondered what all the hype was about…Now I know!).  Today I’m feeling fresh as a winters daisy with no soreness. I even swam this morning and did an easy 45 min treadmill run during lunch!  Must be the ORGAIN and compression wear!  Got to be, right?

What else might I write about…..Oh…here’s something top secret…..Hummm…should I??

Psych….I’ll save it for another blog post.  That way I don’t have to think of something profound!

I am looking forward to this year.    Work is wonderful.  My coach is amazing and I just love having her train me!  The personal life is doing great.  I am blessed to have amazing sponsors who have incredible products and run their businesses with the utmost integrity.  What can I say…..my life is wonderful and I am truly blessed!!!!!!

So here’s to 2013…bring it on!  Let’s do this thing!
